A Mini Spa Escape in the Heart of Glasgow
Barry and I recently made our first trip to Glasgow, and we totally lucked out with The Address Hotel. It was a last-minute pick (shoutout to TikTok for the inspo!), and the spa sealed the deal for us. Whether you’re into cold plunges, saunas, or just need a relaxing spot to unwind, this place nails it.

A Private Spa Experience
One of the best things about the spa here is the setup. You book a time slot, pick up a special key card at the front desk, and the spa is all yours for a full hour. They also provide robes, slippers, and plenty of water, which makes the whole experience feel luxurious and private.
We found mornings to be the best time to visit. The sauna is fully heated and ready to go, and starting the day with 30 minutes of sweating out toxins followed by a minute or so in the cold plunge leaves you feeling refreshed and energized. We tried an evening slot once, but it seemed like the sauna was cooling down for the day—not quite the same vibe.
The Himalayan Salt Sauna
I’m a sauna girlie through and through, and the Himalayan salt sauna here didn’t disappoint. Beyond the relaxation factor, saunas like this are said to offer some amazing benefits:

- Stress Relief: The warmth and calm environment work wonders for reducing stress and boosting your mood.
- Detoxification: Sweating helps flush out toxins, leaving your skin glowing.
- Respiratory Health: The salt particles can help clear your airways and improve breathing.

The Cold Plunge
Barry is obsessed with cold plunges—he’s even had one at home before! I’m still warming up (or should I say cooling down?) to them, but I’m learning to appreciate the benefits:
- Boosts Circulation: The cold water constricts blood vessels, which then dilate as you warm up, promoting better circulation.
- Reduces Inflammation: Perfect for soothing sore muscles or joints after a workout or long day.
- Energizes Your Body: The shock of cold water releases endorphins, leaving you feeling awake and invigorated.
After a minute or so in the plunge, we’d relax on the heated loungers to let our bodies warm back up naturally—it was such a nice balance of intense and calming.

Why We Loved It
The privacy, the balance of heat and cold, and the thoughtful details, made this spa experience a highlight of our trip. It’s the perfect way to kickstart a day of exploring Glasgow—or to recover from one.
If you’re staying at The Address Hotel or just looking for a fantastic spa day in the city, I can’t recommend this enough. Just be sure to snag a morning slot for the best experience.
Have you tried cold plunges or Himalayan salt saunas before? Let me know how you felt about them—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
